My altar candles never seem to burn evenly, and it's quite annoying in some ways, but nice and rustic in others. So, I've grabbed my usual Yule and Samhain candles and stripped them down in hope they will start to burn more evenly, I even reduced the width slightly! The white ring on both "after" candles I believe is something to do with the heat of the wax and oxygen? Correct me if I'm wrong here!! All you need is a knife with a smooth blade and some tissue for clean up.
