This is my overview of the New Moon phase.

            New Moon

This is a small time between the Dark Moon and Waxing Crescent (seven days after Dark Moon), She’s sometimes hard to see which makes it a tricky time to work with if you are unsure of the Moon phase.  The Moon will be in this phase for three days and a half before it will begin waxing.  The Goddess has just been re-born.

Welcome the New Moon

Items Required:

¶  Moon Candle

¶  Full Moon Oil

Anoint the Moon candle with the Full Moon oil and allow it to dry. 

Go outside, if possible, seek out the Moon and welcome Her.  Light the candle; look at the Moon and say:

Welcome back, Moon!

I’m glad to see You again

Another cycle has passed

Another month gone by

And our lives have moved forward

Bring us Your wisdom Your guidance

Your protection, in the coming month

You are behind me at every step

Watching and guiding me

And I am thankful

Today is a new day

And a new month begins

As the tides flow and the Moon rises above

I am thankful that She has returned

She watches over us, ever constant

Yet always changing

And I am thankful for Her light
